Tolmai

The name may be taken from Flaubert's Herodiade, where an intimate of the tetrarch Herod Antipas has this name. In the 1929 edition Afranii was named Tolmai (OR GBL, f. 562, k 6, ed. khr. 2 in Sokolov 552). Bulgakov also copied the name from Farrar (OR GBL, f. 562, k 8, ed. khr. 1 in Sokolov 552).
