June 17th continued
Of merry Glee, for
The world indeed is lovely sure
In flowers of June decked forth so gay
They fill the breeze with fragrance pure
In this bright, lovely, heavenly day

A balmy breeze floats through the Air
A 1000 various sights attract our gaze
The Planets beauties who can declare
Oh who can sing enough its praise

Its waving grass, so green it looks;
The forests clothed with leaves of gold,
The rippling streams, the pretty brooks;
And singing birds, its joys unfold

All nature clothed in beauteous forms
The richest, brightest, mans heart desires
With Love to God our bosom warms
And Hapiness, [sic] this Love inspires

What has though these beauteous scenes may fade
Under Autums [sic] withering chilling blast
For many a change we all were made
And icy winter will not long last.

In all the shifting scenes of Life we ought
Sweet happiness to seek and surely find
A world of pleasure nor dear is it bought
If we seek with a contented mind
