Sat. 22nd. 50. 70. 59. Cloudy. Less pleasant than it has been We plant & plant away, in the north we adaw above the brook we labor hard all. We manure it in the hill only. 1 3/4 acres.

Sun. 23rd. 50. 60. 43. A rainy day, some heavy showers. It will start the grass &c. forward with new vigor. I like to see the beautiful rain fall---Father & I attend meeting at E. Randolph. Mr. Hodgdon, the minister, spoke quite ably his discourse P.M. was about the beauties of nature &c. H this is a great theme, who can but admire the happy on such a smiling earth, with its rich green grass, its beautiful forests with green leaves, the birds that gaily sing, & the beautiful flowers that sweetly blossom


Mon.24th. 52. 65.60. Some rain, & heavy showers; the last heavy one drives us from the field where we were planting at 5. P.M. Last night, 5 P.M. O.B.J.& I had a [code]. I like a sociable companion. Ellen had a letter from Horace Sat., he will be here with his wife in July. I shall be glad to see them & Grata too, the little dear

Tues.25th 60. 83. 63. It rained all last night, & heavy showers this morn till 10. We are driven, well soaked, home the field this morn. It is clear & very warm. P.M. We finished on piece (above the brook) to day. about 2 acres more to plant 5 1/2 acres in all. tis a long job V.C. & I have done most of it. G. Has been grafting for others, & himself most of the time lately, & working in garden. Father helps plant some. We plant millions to day
