Perhaps the most effective of the anti-war protests was the letter addressed to President Johnson. This letter expressed the frustration that many young scholars from around the country felt. Along with students from some of the most prestigious Colleges and Universities in the nation, Middlebury's student body voiced a powerful message of peace.
