Life! On it, what vast consequences hang!
Eternal woe! Or never ending Bliss
Vain ???? and many a heart-distressing pang
Indeed! are felt in such a world as this!
Why have we sought these dying fading joys?
And why has not the thread of Life been cut?
Listless and vain Why seek these trifling ????
Now Justice might the Gate of Heaven shut!
Eternal spirit! Now thine aid impart
Renew and sanctify each wretched heart!
