Off coast Ireland
Monday July 22, 1895

Dear Father,

Today we have an opportunity to send letters ashore and so I will give you a brief account of how we fared[.] I have not been seasick since the first night – but I was sick enough then to remember[.]
The first six days we had smooth water but on the seventh we blew a gale, the worst, the captain said, the ship has encountered this season and about the worst he ever saw in July. It quited down the next day and we have been comfortable since.

Socially there have been all that could be desired and on the whole the weather has not been bad.
We expect to reach Glasgow tomorrow early but letters will reach home sooner if sent off at Moville[.]
Hoping you have not suffered neuralgia(?) and that I shall hear from you soon

Lovingly Yours,
Charlie
