Toy Motor Car, ca. 1900-1920

This miniature toy car is made of wood, steel, nails, and faloric plastic. The car and driver were made by Egbert Hadley and William Jackson. It was exhibited at the Addison County Fair in 1903 or 1914 and won the blue ribbon. The vehicle is operated by electric motor with dry cells.

Bow and Arrow, ca. 1900-1940

The items are from Northwestern Vermont and were probably made for tourist trade.

 


Bear on Wheels, ca. 1920’s

This toy bear is made of woolfur and metal and it’s dimensions are 6” x 3” x 8”.

Boys’ Tool Chest, ca. 1900

This miniature tool chest was made to duplicate the adult version, but scaled down for little hands.

 


Noah’s Ark and contents, ca. 1920’s

The materials, which were made in England are made of painted pine and consist of Noah and Mrs. Noah, 8 mammals, and 1 bird. Pieces from a Noah's Arc toy collection. It was sometimes the only toys that children were allowed to play with on Sundays because of its religious significance.

Table Croquet Game, ca. 1878

Too cold and snowy to play croquet? This set, a gift to Mary B. Painter from her Aunt Aurora, allowed people to play a miniature form of the game.
