A whistle--this strong whistles, which cause winds and upset, are very similar to the whistles found in Russian folklore. Solovey-Razboynik, for example, kills his enemies with his whistle. Folklore competition would have entailed three whistles, Bulgakov's version seems therefore incomplete.
