The Vakhtangov Theater, 26 Arbat, was named after Yevgeny Vakhtangov,
a pupil of Stanislavsky, in 1926. The original 19th century building was
destroyed by a bomb in the 40s.
At right is the later building on the same location.

theater marquee on Arbat St.
