1. Open Fireworks and type in some text on a blank document
(you have to click on the A tool bar to type text).

2. Choose Windows > Effects. Select Drop Shadow from
the pop up menu. Apply the effect. Try different settings to see the
changes (always click apply for
|

3. Select the text that you had entered in Fireworks and double-click on it. Try the various text settings to see their effect (Photoshop does not allow for as much control over its text).

4. Look at the Middlebury College image to the left. Try to acheive the same effect with FireWorks tools. (hint: to rotate text, chose Modify > Transform > Rotate 90 CCW)
5. Try to achieve the same effect with Photoshop 4 or 5 (see text in Photoshop 4). |
