I cannot imagine why my last letter was postmarked May. I gave it to Horatio and asked him to give it to Osias, and said nothing more presuming he would not understand it, and I have not asked him why he directed it, and believe I shall not bother ask again if “I am almost ready” – By this fire, Dear Philip, we have never been together and “circumstances are such that we shall not all present.” Philip, I cannot complain- that you would gladly be here I do not doubt and that I would gladly have you, you cannot doubt.
Here, Philip, I must say good night- My letter I know is very late but I feel that I could not have done differently. Your troubles at this moment are all forgotten- that you may none when you wake Dearest Philip is the wish of your Emma H. Seymour.
