Middlebury Kaleidoscope 1919-1920
The Middlebury Kaleidoscope has, throughout the years,
served as the College's yearbook. In its early years, the Kaleidoscope
not only chronicled student
life through photographs, it presented the year's important events in
a journalistic manner.

Following the United States' entry into the
Great War, Middlebury students and faculty formed The War Service
Committee. The committee served the purpose of keeping those related
to Middlebury serving in the war informed as to the currents events
of the college. |
This section of the Kaleidoscope explained the
spirit that the college rallied around in sending its men to war.
Overall, the college believed in a great
ideal and that its men died valiantly in striving to achieve it.

As American involvement became eminent, Middlebury
College felt obligated to assist in preparing the United States
for war. In preparation, the College established the Middlebury
College Cadet Corps, headed by two Norwich University officers.

listed all of the current students
and alumni of Middlebury who devoted their service to the war.
