On Wood

On Wood
Wood is one of the most useful things we have. If we had no wood in the long winters of New England, we should probably freeze to death. We make our chairs of wood, and most of our buildings. Some wood is very costly and others are not. If there was no wood what should we make our houses of; brick some would say to be sure some could build of brick but some of our poor people have nothing to get brick with; some get most of their living by selling wood and now I have nothing more to say.
