Acoustics Commission

Chistye Prudy, where the Acoustics Commission meets--There was no such organization; the only office connected with theaters at Chistye Prudy (Clean Ponds--there is a pond there like at Patriarch's Ponds) was UTZP (seen above)--the Directorate of Theatrical-Show Enterprises of the People's Commissariat of Enlightenment of the RSFSR, Glavrepertkom (Head Repertoire Committee), and the UMZP--the Directorate of Moscow Show Enterprises. The UTZP was once directed by M. P. Arkadiev (perhaps Sempleyarov's first name comes from here?), while Glavrepertkom was directed by Bulgakov's enemy, O. S. Litovsky (who becomes Latunsky in the novel).
