Strong Women at Home

During war time most attention is paid to the enlisted men who are overseas in the heart of the war. This is justifiable, as those are the people physically and actively fighting for the country's cause. Life is not easy for the families at home either. With fathers and sons not able to provide daily support, the family left behind must assume much of their responsibilities. Along with constant worry about the unknown overseas, life at home is harder than ever, but the only option is to keep working and not dwell on the situation. While not physically fighting the war, the women left behind had to remain as strong as the men who left them. Praise is rarely given to, and not expected by, these women, but surely a newspaper article touting their strength and accomplishments was a reassuring addition to what keeps them going.
