The Middlebury College Snow Bowl is an alpine ski area located on Rte 125 in Hancock, Vermont with 3 lifts and 15 trails. Wind data used to assess the feasibility of installing a turbine at the Middlebury College Snow Bowl was provided by a micrometeorological station located on top of the Worth Mountain Chair summit shack. Data for the micrometeorological station spans three months: September 30-November 12, 2001 and January 1-March 1, 2002. Though this provides valuable data towards assessing the Snow Bowl's potential for wind energy production, data for a proper feasibility study would span several years. |
