PROPOSED TURBINE: NW 100/19

The NW 100/19 is produced by Northern Power Systems located in Waitsfield, Vermont. This turbine is appropriate for the Snow Bowl because it is designed specifically for cold weather environments. Northern Power Systems has produced wind turbines which currently operate in both the North and South Poles. Because of its simple design, the NW 100/19 is very reliable and requires low maintenance, which are important attributes because of the relatively inaccessible location atop the Middlebury Snow Bowl.
